Get ready for a double dose of Nothing! A recent report from Android Headlines, corroborated by Nothing themselves, suggests two new smartphones are launching at Nothing’s March 4th event. But there’s a twist: it’s not the Phone 3 we were expecting.
Instead of a flagship launch, Nothing is apparently focusing on its A-series, unveiling the Nothing Phone 3a and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro. This marks a departure from their previous naming convention, ditching the “Plus” moniker for the larger model. This strategy of launching the more budget-friendly A-series before the flagship Phone 3 is certainly an unusual move.

Nothing confirmed the “Phone 3a series” launch in their quarterly YouTube update, promising a “major upgrade on the camera” and design changes featuring upgraded materials. Adding to the intrigue, Akis Evangelidis, Nothing’s co-founder and head of marketing, reassured fans that the Phone 3 is coming this year, calling it a “milestone” for the company. So, while the Phone 3 won’t be at the March 4th event, its arrival is definitely on the cards.

The Android Headlines report offers some details about the new A-series phones. Both the Phone 3a and 3a Pro are rumored to come in two colors: black and white for the 3a, and black and grey for the 3a Pro. Storage and RAM configurations are also tipped, with both models potentially offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The standard Phone 3a might also come in an 8GB RAM/128GB storage option, potentially exclusive to certain markets.

Adding fuel to the fire, a leaked image, supposedly showing the back of the Phone 3a, has surfaced. While the device is concealed in a protective case, the exposed camera setup aligns with previous rumors and a teaser image from Nothing. The image suggests a triple-camera system, including a telephoto lens, a welcome addition to the A-series lineup.
